Gilbert, AZ is a progressive and growing town with a small town atmosphere. It’s located southeast of Metropolitan Phoenix in Maricopa County. Gilbert was once a rail siding for Arizona Eastern Railway. The town was established in 1891. Like many railroad towns, Gilbert has grown and flourishes today with a deep respect for its rich history. It didn’t take long for the railroad town to become a thriving farming community. In the early 1900s Gilbert was known as the “hay capital of the world.” The town was officially incorporated in 1920.
