Fear - The Worst Enemy For Any Entrepreneur

Everyone has fears it is only natural. Really it isn’t even healthy to not have any fears you just have to learn to face them and overcome them. THAT is what separates a dreamer and a doer.

I have fears, lots of them. As an investor I know there is a lot of risk involved with the deals I look at. While I educate myself and learn from great mentors to try to identify and mitigate as much risk as I can beforehand there is always a great unknown that could make the greatest deal a total disaster.

Fear of making a bad decision and getting a stinker of a deal is tough to overcome. It is so much more difficult when I think about all the repercussions it can have in my life. Not only will I have the monetary setback, the loss of time, and any other issues that can come up, but my whole family could suffer. I may be fairly cavalier with my own life and be willing to accept any repercussions for myself but taking their welfare into account makes even the slightest possibility of failure so much scarier.

How do we overcome these fears? I don’t know and tips would be appreciated. :)

Seriously though I know that I have to step back and realize I am good at this and that there isn’t really that much to fear to begin with, and if I do have a setback that I can recover from it because my family will still love and support me no matter what.

Special thanks to Ranesa Riley Bodine for her recent post on fear that helped me get these ideas out of the back of my head.
