HISTORY AND INFORMATION ON WARNER ROBINS
Warner Robins was originally a small community known as Wellston, Georgia. In 1941, the United States Air Force established a military base that grew into Robins Air Force Base. It is Georgia's largest single employer covering 6400 acres and employs over 25,000 military, contractor and civilian workers.
The community of Wellston was renamed Warner Robins in 1943, after Brigadier General Augustine Warner Robins.
Warner Robins is also the home to the Museum of Aviation, one of the top Air Museums in the country. The renowned Robins Air Force band performs at the museum several times a year for free, plus you will want to see the Robert L.
