There is great news for all families who need help with preparing their children for back to school. The sales tax holiday in Amarillo, TX will begin the second weekend in August and go for three days. The sales tax holiday will help you save money on select items under $100.

While these savings are not huge, they do help save on back to school shopping. Items that you will see on the exempt list include footwear, clothing, backpacks, school supplies and more that are under $100. Anything over $100 will not be included on the sales tax holiday savings. There will be an estimated savings of $74 million across the state and in local sales taxes during the sales tax holiday.
