Is the National Foreclosure Crisis Finally Over?
August foreclosure numbers from RealtyTrac yielded variable results by State. National results showed a sharp decline from a year ago, with foreclosures down 33%. But RealtyTrac’s Daren Blomquist says that the cleanup of distressed properties still lingers in some U.S. markets.
However, data revealed an increase in foreclosures in some U.S. States from a year ago. The seven U.S. states that saw an increase in foreclosures over last year included, Georgia with an increase of 146%, Hawaii saw an increase of 42%, Oregon with a 20% increase, Pennsylvania with a 12% increase, and Connecticut with 10%.
What are your thoughts? Is the worst of the national foreclosure crisis finally over. With 21 months of consecutive declines in the national foreclosure numbers, I think the worst is probably behind us.
