Fitbits, Fitness, and Fun

I was listening to the podcast on my morning run this morning. I enjoy Thursday and Friday mornings. Not just because the work week is winding down, but because there is a new podcast to listen to. And Josh and Brandon happen to be discussing Fitbits!

I love my Fitbit. It motivates me to move more. My daily goal is 12,000 steps and 10 flights of stairs. I jog in the morning, walk in the evening, park in the furthest spot, work at a standing workstation, and use the treadmill if it is a wet Pacific Northwest day.

Exercise makes us feel better. Gives us more energy. Aids digestion and sleep. Burns calories. Rearranges the shape of our bodies. Regulates sugar levels. Fights diseases. Gives us time to talk and think, or listen to podcasts!

Bruce and I incorporate walking into our lifestyle. The walkability score of a neighborhood or hotel is really important to us. We walk downtown for coffee. We go exploring, locally and while travelling. We run into tenants and friends when we are walking the parks and neighborhoods.

And what does any of this have to do with real estate investing? When we feel better we do better. When we look and feel trim, we have more confidence. When we have more energy we are more likely to mow a lawn, tackle a project, or walk a target neighborhood. When we aren’t weighed down by health issues we can do more real estate.

Get moving!
