Keep More of Your Money with Emailed Receipts

Hey Guys! As I was cleaning up my house, I noticed how many items from Home Depot I purchased but never ended up using. I keep all my receipts, however, they are not organized the best, and some of these items I have purchased months ago. I started to realize how much of my own money was going to waste by not having the receipts organized. Of course I can take the items back for an instore credit, but what if I wanted MY money back lol. Then it dawned on me that at the check out they ask if I want the receipt emailed to me! I have used this in the past a few times, but not enough for it to work in my favor right now.

I decided to take an ADD break from cleaning and write this quick idea. I recommend creating a folder in your email and title it "Home Depot Receipts" this way everything will be neat, organized, and searchable AND it will allow you to keep more of your money by being able to walk into the store with you phone and show them the receipt for a full refund!

Until next time :)

Alex

  2. Wow, this is a power tip. I haven't heard of this in. I'm going to see if this is offered in Sacramento. This would make my life simpler.

  3. I have a weird organization system - I use envelopes to store my receipts in. Lately stores like Sears, Kmart, and Home Depot have been emailing me receipts which I then save electronically in folders in my email inbox. Note that at Home Depot, you don't need a receipt. Just give them the credit card you bought the item with, and they can look up your purchase that way. If you paid cash then you're out of luck and do need a receipt.
