Month 2 - Mentor/Coach ~

Ok now it is month 2 of my mentoring program.  I'm ready to start my marketing plan.  I do not tell my coach that I have put aside $3K to spend including his program and my marketing efforts to start.  Keep in mind, I'm paying $500/mo for his program.  I decided my first marketing action will be sending postcards to out of town owners/absentee with properties in the Columbus area.  We go to a website to generate a list and we draft up what we want to say on the postcards.  The list comes up with around 200 owners and we decided it was a start even though we wanted to send out 500 but hey it's action time so we send them out.

I receive a few calls and because Tyler and I meet once a week; we can make the call backs together.  Tyler does the talking and I'm doing the learning.  I'm still OK with this process but in the back of my head I'm thinking when are we going to do some deals?  All the time he is telling me about one of his students I'll call him Wallstreet due to how he wears his hair slicked back like in the movie.  Tyler goes on and on how well he is doing.  I think he talks about Wallstreet to keep me motivated but it is doing the opposite.  I'm discouraged because I'm coming every week and I haven't made a deal yet going on 2 months!!

I actually went to one of Wallstreet's houses to check it out... Tyler thought it would be nice for me to see another student's progress.  It was interesting but I felt in the way, he had prospective buyers there so I couldn't ask any questions so I just wandered around.  I would guess I was there to show the "real buyers" there is competition.....

November did not produce any deals but I did get better versed on how to take information from a prospective seller.  Good stuff but no money made to pay a bill or to fund my marketing efforts but I continue on......
