PERSISTENCE, PERSISTENCE, PERSISTENCE, PERSISTENCE.
I once was told that I would do great in this business.... Because of how persistent I am. I was told this early on when I got into the game by a big shot, Joe D'Allessandro from
"Joe D'Allessandro House Buyers". I blew up his phone, email, text. You name it! Then he finally responded back. And he left a message on my voicemail saying, "you are the most persistent person I know". "When I get back in from out of town.... You are the first person I'm calling". That made my day. I must've saved that voicemail for a year! Lol. And we met. And we talked. And he gave me the rules to the game. Great man. He still hasn't bought a house from me yet though LOL.
Anyways what I'm getting at is persistence is a must in this biz. Especially when dealing with homeowners. Until someone tells me NO.... I will hunt them down (politely) until I get what I want. Now ya gotta know when someone is bullshitting ya too. Those people I put into the follow up folder. Not to mention following up is a must. It goes hand and hand with persistence. People (homeowners, contractors, etc), get lost in the sauce.You gotta be persistent and follow up or ya won't be doing a lot of deals.
