Earn More By Becoming A Realtor
Man, I see the question on here so often. "Should I become a Reatltor?".
Yes. And beyond the benefits of MLS access, becoming a Realtor can put more money in your pocket. No, I'm not talking about saving on commissions. I'm talking about sitting-on-my-behind-while-others-do-the-work kind of money. You see, once you become licensed, you can legally earn referral commissions in most (if not all) states.
Here's an example. A few days ago, I get a call from a guy wanting to sell his house. He had seen my "I Buy Houses" ads on the internet. I asked him about the house. It's in great condition and he's not really in a hurry to sell. So, I told him that he really doesn't need (or want) to sell to an investor in that case. And I've helped many similar people by being their Realtor and getting them a full retail sale. (I know, you don't want to be a Realtor - hang in there). Anyway, a couple of phone calls more and a short meeting with a Realtor friend of mine - and she is going to take the listing. That means she does all of the work. Once it sells, my referral commission will be north of $1000. Not too bad for about 1 hour of work (total of 3 or 4 phone calls and a short meeting with the Realtor). OK, so maybe an hour and a half. I'll take it anyway.
