Some times you have to just step off the ledge.

I have worked in a call center since I was 17. There is a saying "I used to smile then I worked in a call center." While I find this hilarious I must also admit that it can be very true. I am 21 and have been on the phones for 4 years. I think my mindset changed when I was talking with an older co worker. I work with guys that are 2 and even 3 times my age. They all have one thing in common. They have great ideas, have read all of the books, and are waiting for the right time.  I promised myself right then and there that I will not wake up one morning at 60 and wonder why I never pursued the things that I love.

So I started reading and stumbled upon BP while looking for reviews on REI books. I was heavily active on the motorcycle forums for years and figured I might as well join up. I started setting goals, learning, and most importantly took action. While I have had to redo some of my goals.... Apparently quitting my day job and being financially independent in 4 months was a tad unrealistic. I can honestly say I am glad I gave this a shot. I closed on my 1st deal last week. My business partner and I made over 10k in just 3 weeks. I hope to have that story about how I made 6 figures in my first year but time will tell.

If a broke 21 year old can make this work so can you. One of the best feelings in the entire world was being able to show my wife that check. While she believed in me all along I can honestly say that I now believe more in myself.

To the people that laugh and ask if I'm going to buy a house for someone else while living in my rented 600sqft apartment, my answer... You bet!

  1. This is awesome. Great motivation!

  2. Thanks for the motivation. To see someone so young out-doing me like this is embarrassing! I will have to succeed just to placate my ego! LOL

    1. If anything I hope it motivates you! That's the whole point to me sharing my success. If I can ever give you any assistance don't hesitate to ask. I can't even begin to tell you how much I've learned just by doing.

  3. @Ryan Dossey great motivational post. Glad to hear you're making moves!

    1. Best decision I've made second only to marrying my wife lol.

  4. good read! Keep  it up!

  5. Excellent.  Establishing another income stream may allow you to escape from the cube farm sooner than you might think.
