The harder I work, the luckier I get.

So sorry for the delay folks – things have been moving at a pretty good clip since my last post. Here is a quick recap:

  • I entered into a JV partnership on a property that should net approximately $20k within the next 12 months (combination of equity and cash-flow).
  • I have a verbal acceptance on my next solo investment property (action step complete from my last post!)
  • I have read 3 more books: “31 Days to Profits,” “HUD Homes Half Off,” & “Miracle Morning” (action step completed from my last post!)
  • Attended 2 real estate meetings, including 1 workshop on business planning and setting up LLC’s.
  • Met with 3 investors, 2 of which I would now consider friends.
  • Met with a real estate friendly CPA
  • Put in several offers, which led to several negations, which is leading to more potential investment properties.

As the title says, the harder I work the luckier I seem to get. I know many, if not all of you, have heard this quote before but it is really funny how things find a way of getting in front of you right when they’re supposed to. I have been working extremely hard to get this venture off the ground and I am doing all of the while working full time (I wake up at 5 AM, 3 hours before my job starts to fit much of this in).

Speaking of working full time – I know most people dream of not having to work for one reason or another. I have been listening to Tai Lopez as well as reading his emails (this dude reads a book a day, then emails a summary) and he really made me think a different way. It’s not that we don’t want to work; it’s that we haven’t properly aligned our lives so that we can’t distinguish between work and pleasure. Real estate is that for me: I enjoy doing the work, I've already made some great connections and friends, and it can be extremely profitable. This is something I find that I can work hard at (always have don’t that), but also really enjoy the process entirely (not always the case in the past).

So what am I doing? How can you get going? Why not go online and search for a local real estate group? Why not reach out to someone on BiggerPockets who is doing what you want to do and ask them some specific questions? Why not reach out to me and see if I can help you out with some specific direction? I don’t have all the answers, or probably that many, but I will definitely do what I can to find out the answer and pass it along. I’ve done all of the above mentioned things and they are working out so far. The way to success is not only having goals, taking action, but working hard and making things happen.
