Lonnie Scruggs: A Life Of Giving
If you are new to mobile home investing, or a seasoned pro, take some time today to say thank you to someone who lead the way in “Fast Turning” individual mobile homes inside parks. Lonnie Scruggs was a leader and genuinely great guy – the point of this article is to remember him and his acts of service to the community and a nation of hungry cash-flow seeking investors.
When I first got started investing in individual mobile homes on private land and inside parks I had no idea who Lonnie was. It wasn’t until I had been investing for a few years that people started comparing me to Lonnie Scruggs (an honor I see now). At this point I had to read his books and learn more about this “mystery man”.
It turned out that this “mystery man” I had never heard of was a nationally recognized speaker of mobile home investing, author, even creating the “Lonnie Deal” based from his name. A Lonnie deal is one in which you purchase a used mobile home in a park for $0.00-$5000-ish and resell the mobile home quickly for 2 or 3 times this amount by holding payments.
In the past few years Lonnie has taken some heat with regards to new lending requirements and the SAFE Act however I don’t feel this dampened Lonnie’s spirit of giving back to the community of investors seeking his years of wisdom.
It may surprise you to learn that Lonnie and I have never formal met face to face. This is something that I must live with, it would have been so cool and educational to hear some of his mind-blowing and hilarious stories from all his years in the mobile home flipping business, or as he called it the “Paper business” (since he sold many of his mobile homes and held notes as per his Lonnie Deal strategy).
Changing Lives By Making The American Dream Possible
Something I am sure I know about Lonnie is the same thing I know about YOU and ME. If you are actively investing in inexpensive mobile homes and reselling them to good-hard-working folks you are changing lives one-by-one.
To date I have helped numerous families acquire used mobile homes that these families would have not been able to afford otherwise. This is done by a combination of techniques that rely on receiving payments as part of the sales terms of your mobile home for sale.

Whenever I shake hands with a new tenant-buyer I see the look of honor and respect in these families faces. Perhaps never before has this family ever owned a home of their own. This is a great feeling that I can only assume that Lonnie has been feeling for 40+ years.

To the family of Lonnie please know your father, husband, brother has made an everlasting impression and change on the investing community that will live on in the good works of others he has inspired and trained.
