Being a New Realtor and 3 Reason Why you should Use a New Realtor

Good Morning Bigger Pockets,

I officially finished my real estate classes, passed the test with ease, signed up at my local board, obtained my MLS access, and ordered business cards. I am officially a brand new Realtor. One of the biggest challenges we discussed in school was about convincing people to use a new realtor, instead of someone who has an established track record. I set out to give a few good reasons why you should go with a brand new Realtor over a seasoned vet.

1. Motivation

A brand new realtor is motivated. Let this be a positive impact on their career, and it can take them very far. They are motivated to sell your house quickly or find you a house that you absolutely love and cannot wait to buy. They need that commission to live and survive and they need to give you the best service possible because they need your friends and family to trust their home needs to them as well. Their business cannot grow if they never get started.

2. Excitement

A brand new realto may not have the same smell as a brand new car, but I guarantee you that they are as excited to get to work for you. A brand new realtor might spend their entire day cold calling FSBOs (For Sale By Owners) or answering questions for internet leads. So if you are

willing to break up their monotony and be their client, they will be thrilled to make sure you have the absolute best experience working with them.

3. Time

If there is one thing a brand new realtor has above all else, it’s time. An established realtor might have several other clients to tend to, and if they are repeat clients, then they might get more of the realtor’s attention, but with a new realtor, all they have to give you is there time. If they don’t have an answer to your question, they have the time to go find it. Provided they are not a hobby-agent, meaning they have a full time job outside of real estate, they should be able to answer all your calls, or return them rather quickly. They should have the time to make sure everything is proper and in order. It might take them a little longer to make sure everything is done correctly, but they will take the time to make sure it is perfect and in order at closing and every step of the way there.

Being a new Realtor takes a lot of patience and confidence. If you can show your potential clients that you are confident in your potential as a Realtor then you can become very successful. The Realtor dream is to live off of referrals. But it takes a lot of hard work to get there. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Challenge accepted.
