21 Day Flip Journal! Day 2 Friday June 5th

JAS Investment Properties Anchorage Pool

Friday June 5th 7:56 AM The kitchen and family room all go out to the pool and yard

area, which has great potential. One idea is to bring the outside in and the inside out. So I have decided to add folding picture window with a granite counter to the kitchen and use matching granite from the kitchen. Sent Kevin an email of the idea. Likes it.

3:16 PM went to the site to meet Kevin, Vic, Ronnie, Leo and Russ to walk through the project. Came up with great idea to create curved granite counter top coming out of kitchen to make this amazing breakfast bar to accommodate at least six. Moved the location of the sink to more directly under the center of the window and moved the location of the dishwasher from the right of the sink to the left of the sink. Moved the refrigerator location from the edge of the kitchen to more of the center of the kitchen so it is within easier reach. Took lots of pictures. Like a lot of houses of that era (built in 1988) a lot of kitchens have dropped ceilings like a cave, so the first thing I do is to open up the entire area, to make the kitchen part of the living space. Notice to the left we opened the entire wall to extend the cabinet space and to add a sit down computer desk with granite top.

Now imagine coming from the left and curving into the to the center of the kitchen and edge of the family room, a large curving 12 foot granite breakfast island. Cannot wait!

By the way always keep a working refrigerator, toilet and microwave for your work crew. In Vegas because of the heat we keep the refrigerator stocked with water.

Also insist that the crew keep the entire house broom clean and lock up all tools and gear at the end of each day and haul out the garbage. Keep the work area clean and free of clutter. Obviously what you see is a great example of the philosophy. I am going to have to talk to Victor.

Oh and no smoking! The last thing you want is your open house to smell like a smokey old bar. I apologize to all of you cigarette smokers, please smoke if you want to, but not in my house.
