Death to the Bandit signs!

Friday, May 14

Okay, gurus, death to the bandit signs! Now I got some of those signs, took the guru advice, and put out just a few to test the market here. OMG, our city is HARD up for money! I was called, and reprimanded/warned by the code enforcement, i.e. sign POLICE and told not to put out anymore signs! It is not like Brunswick is plastered with signs here like Jacksonville, FL! But anyway, I was to comply and was then even too scared to put any out in the county as well! Next, here comes the  deputy this week and issues me a citation to appear in court/mandatory this coming Wed. for a sign being found on a city street a few blocks from here on the other side of town from where I originally put the signs! Well, turns out I had placed a few signs on my own property and they were stolen/removed by kids that walk by daily to high school, as I had noticed them missing. I suppose they put the sign over by the school where the code guy said he found it and I am in trouble with him! BWK has since been cracking down on signage here-like it is a REAL problem! THe town is run by the 3 blind mice, little ol white hairs mens club-maybe you too have heard of them-are they in your town too? Well, this rinky dink town does not promote small business and they began Brunswick blueprint to hopefully reviatlize downtown-which was a front for all the money pocketed by a select few-get the clue! ANyway, they pick on small folks like me, and turn a blind eye to the real criminals of the town-which I might add are a few big name old money families of course. This is no news flash-has been going on since England! But it surely puts a dampner on what I am trying to do as a newbie-dang-give me a break before I end up resigning to welfare like the majority of Brunswick and saying what the "fluck".

disagree. That's the only way to TEST and see if they work. Not every area will be as "strict" as yours.

All you can do now is go contest the ticket, and say what it is. If you sadly have to pay...well, that's the downside.

Other then that...go "underground" and stick it to them and make some money! :) (or hell...partner up and you all can roll in the dough...if you can't beat 'em..)

    Hello, Susan:

Looks like the "bandit sign police" have beaten you up, pretty good (smile). If this help, anytime I move into a market that I've not done business in before, my checklist always includes a trip "down town." to meet the folks, at least at the "working levels" to determine what acceptable and what's not. You'll be surprised at what a visit "downtown" can accomplish, not to mention the pain you can avoid by meeting the "beast" in it's own lair. Hope this helps. And don't let 'em get you down: "hang in there"!

In Phoenix bandit signs a great. There are bandit sign police like wvssmith said but they only work M-F. So I put out as many signs as I can on Friday night so you get the whole weekend.

THE $260 Bandit sign-ouch, quite the little expensive devil, the rest I will use at the next sushi party as platters! As my town is starving, as the code enforcers have to justify their job/salary! Shame on them, as they really need to concern themselves with BIGGER issues! Get a brain-dudes!

What town are you in? What is the poulation? Did you put signs up in the affluent side of town or otherwise? Did you put them on the side roads or at the main intersections? How much are the fines? Do you have the option to buy permits for your signs? Have you tried puting them up on Friday evening and taking them down on Sunday evening?
