I discovered this video to be very current given the changes we are facing in our country, and would like to share this with everyone.

At first glance, you might ask me how this can be current since it was actually produced back in 1948? I thought the same thing, but after watching it, found the content to be as powerful of a message today as it must have been over 6 decades ago.

What does this have to do with real estate?

Everything!

Let me explain: The date is May 15, 2009, and the government now controls the banks (via the TARP), and the values (via the HVCC). This should concern EVERYONE greatly. The real estate "free market" is gone, and the Politicians are in a position to manipulate everything. Companies are being forced into bankruptcy as the banks are told to get what the auditors consider "Toxic Assets" (code word: anything to do with real estate) off the books.

CP Morgan here in Indianapolis is a prime example of this manipulation. The bank re-negotiated with the developer, then basically "changed their minds" as to their commitment. It forced CP Morgan into bankruptcy, when they had the ability, through the banks, to weather the storm.

The way I see it, the BIG Banks will get their money back later by owning the commercial/big development property, and the government gets repaid by us, the taxpayer. If you force all of the mid-investors out of the market by cutting off the money supply, force them into bankruptcy, and manipulate valuations very low, what happens? The large financial institutions now own everything, will manipulate the prices back up, then sell them back to the very same people they crushed in the first place, all while having a windfall of profits.

If you feel I am way off base, let me know in the comments section. I have been pounding my head against the wall trying to figure all of this out, and this is the only real theory I could create to make sense of it all.

If true, it is very sad, but genius at the same time.

I seldom discuss political type issues in the public forum, and it is not my intent to spark any political arguments by sharing this. I just feel an obligation to keep people thinking, and I find incredible value in sharing ideas with one another. It is understandable that we become complacent in a time of turmoil, but we must accept the fact that there is no easy way out of this economic downturn.

The good news is we are a part of the greatest country in the world, and I have faith the people will band together, create solutions, and continue down the roads that will lead us back to prosperity!

If anybody can do it, we can!

I wanted to share a 12 question quiz, and I REALLY want you to think about them before you answer.

Take out a sheet of paper, read the statements aloud, then write down if you: Agree or Disagree

1. I read self-help and motivational books, but can not seem to apply them into my own life.
2. My financial situation is frustrating!
3. I suffer from paralysis by analysis.
4. I feel like I am not as good, or as qualified, as my competitors/co-workers.
5. I am afraid of the word NO!
6. I try to be all things to all people, and feel there is no other option.
7. I start a lot of projects, but never seem to finish them.

Our dogs found a nest of baby bunnies in our backyard, and unfortunately, they ate three (almost 4) of them. So we worked hard to save the two that surived, and my children named them Jasper & Casper!

It was a long, hard road and we lost one of them......Jasper R.I.P 2009

The good news is that were able to save Casper! We decided that Earth Day was the most obvious day, and he was ready, to be released back into the wild!

I often wonder how important this day really is to people. You always hear folks talking about being eco-friendly, but how many of us actually follow through?

Do you shrug it off as just another day, or do you utilize the time to re-evaluate your carbon footprint and focus on a few small changes to make a difference in the world.

1. It can start with something as small as turning off your lights and television!

2. If you use a lot of ink on your printer, do you just discard the cartridges? They can be recycled!

3. Change the filters in your HVAC system. (You should do it anyway, yuck!)

I thought it would be nice to have some fun today!

There is all kind of buzz going on right now about Twitter. It is being used by Fox News, CNN, and other major media outlets.There has also been some heavy promotion by The Ellen Show, Diddy, and Jimmy Fallon.

- Is it a great social networking tool?

- Will it be good for you business?

- Can you buy and sell real estate via Twitter?

Well…….I do not know yet. I am Tweeting, but the jury is still out on if this is an addictive time waster, or a productive business tool of the future.

One thing I do know, it sure is fun to TWEET!

Funny stuff, but is it accurate?

Maybe to a point, but as you can see below, I have a profile on FaceBook, Twitter, BiggerPockets, and Linkedin. I also utilize YouTube as well.

I have seen the most value from BiggerPockets for real estate investment contacts/education, and Linkedin for Corporate connections.

At the end of the day, Social networking is growing up, and I am confident that people in business will be using these types of tools more and more as they keep evolving.

This is the type of technology that business folks will need to embrace, or they might get left behind!
