Anyone dealing with the "real estate of the internet," domain names? I own about 50 domain names, mostly as buy and hold. Any success stories?

Interesting.
There are so many domains out there. What is it about a domain that would cause the average real estate investor to pay you instead of just getting a new one?

Bryan,
My strategy is to buy before someone else gets it. I like short domain names, only dot com, and very sticky (easy to remember and catchy). I like to buy domain names such as citynamedensist (ex: LosAngelesDentist.com). Its general, good for search engines optimization, and easier to sell to local dentists who may not have been able to snatch up the name before me. I don't expect to make hundreds of thousands but I am currently in the works to sell a domain name to a lawyer, I bought the name for $10 and trying to sell it for $5k because I did a lot of SEO work on it. I also buy domain names off others and just hold them.
What is your most profitable?
Your favorite?
What I own (though won't re-sell):
MoltenFusion
WedgeRedux
StreetFrolf
SouthAveFest (and combos)
MarkUpdegraff (thats me)
I've had others that come and go (don't want to pay for ;-)
Mark,
I participated in the incorporation of my city so I bough pretty much everything with the city name about 20 of them..
EastvalePolice, EastvaleMusic, etc...
My most profitable so far has been FrigginRandom.com.
I own greenshirtdeals.com, gamerst.com, which are my favorites and I would have to get a decent amount for them. Then I have futbalnoticia.com which I might turn into a spanish soccer site or just resell. Then I have a bunch of longshots I bought on the cheap.
