Is it better to partner up with a seasoned campaigner or a newer, switched on investor?

I heard on a non BP podcast that it's sometimes good to enlist a younger professional such as lawyer or accountant so you can save money by using someone with less experience. So long as this less experienced person has everything overlooked by their firm's mature members.

I'm curious if partnering up with someone less experienced, but super switched on can be beneficial or will it be more like the blind leading the blind? I'm not talking about a complete newbie, but more like someone with 2-5 years under their belt.

What would be the major pros and cons? So far I have:

Pros:

Like minded

Won't feel stupid by asking newbie questions

Similar in age and interests

Learn from your mistakes

Cons:

Not enough real world experience

Won't feel as confident that what you're doing is right

Mistakes could be very costly
