Finance degree starting at 35

Greetings All,

After doing some initial reading into the subject of REI I am feeling quite overwhelmed. I have about 3 years worth of college credits in liberal arts but I've been working as a mariner since my early/mid twenties. I regret not finishing my degree and I feel, after years of working on boats, like I don't have the office and analytical skills to jump right in to RE. Also, I have to leave home for long and inconsistent periods making stability an issue. I could probably finish a business degree (finance) in 2 to 3 years and my thinking is that it will help me make the contacts I need as well as the tools I need to be a successful entrepreneur. Of course I'll only be finishing at 38 years old or so with 0 experience in the field I wish to enter and will more than likely have to go into debt to do it. I want the degree, but wonder if the cost (in time and dollars) is too much at this late stage. What does everyone think? Thank you in advance.
