I grew up in St. Clair Shores near 11 mile and Jefferson! The lake side of Jefferson is a hidden gem!! The lake side streets have SFH on canals with private boat slips with direct access to Lake St. Clair... The lake connects two of the Great Lakes. Lake St. Clair is so big that you cannot see the other side (Canada) and huge shipping freights cross it out at the horizon of your vision.

You can buy homes as small as 1200 SF with the boat slip for less than 200K, and homes of about 3000+ SF for about $350K+. The can get about 1-2% rent/month and rent to boat lovers because of private boat slips (the slips alone can rent for as much as $300/month during summer use because that is what the nearby marina charges or more).

Good schools, low crime, 30 minutes via I-94 to downtown Detroit or to other suburbs.

I'm going to start a forum for St. Clair Shores!!

Good luck, BryanH who mentioned he bought a SFS in St. Clair Shores in 2013!

Anyone looking at the homes on the Lake St. Clair side of Jefferson we be amazed to get water front property with boat slip for those prices.
