IDIOT GOVERNOR!

Well, today was yet another reminder of why Ohio is 46th out of the 50 states for being business friendly. Today, our idiot socialist governor put forth his latest initiative. His brilliant plan is to request that the Public Utilities Commission put a moratorium on shutting of gas and electric utilities for non-paying customers for the rest of the winter! What a moron!

Even a 3rd grader couldn't have come up with such a STUPID IDEA! Not only will that hurt the honest customers who actually pay their bills on time, but it will hurt the thousands of tenants who will get hopelessly behind on their utility bills due to this moratorium. In addition, why would any low income tenant pay their utility bill once a moratorium is declared?

Without a doubt, this is the DUMBEST initiative I've ever heard of!!!

Good deal Mike, be careful how you word those. I get a copy back in the mail with no response. The key is to have enough people write to the papers, the state, and local guys. This is why we have REI clubs. You can get guys like you together to hound the Government when junk like this happens.

Oh well the good thing is they can't lien your house. Well who knows what they will do next. :beer:

Why a moratorium? I always thought that the electric and gas company could not turn those things off anyway during the winter here in Ohio.

The idiots at the PUCO passed the moratorium today. More stupidity right here in Ohio. TC, yes the utility companies do normally turn off the utilities during the winter.

Yikes! That's cold...

It's a sad thing to ponder as I sit here writing this in -1 degree weather in Minnesota.

It's nice to know that we don't currently have to worry about that here. :crying:

Yes, it's cold but maybe not the way you intended. It's just like giving money to a guy standing by the side of the road with a sign that says: " Homeless and Hungry, Please Help" . Giving the money ENABLES that guy to stay homeless and he uses that money for crack, not food.

It's the same with the food banks. I can't tell you how many times I've evicted people who simply left the refrigerator and all the cabinets FULL of FOOD. Why do they do that? Because they can just go to the food bank and get more. I've had tenants go to the food bank; put some meat in the freezer and then leave the rest outside to rot. Why? Because they didn't have to earn it and therefore it means nothing to them.

Exactly what happens when the idiot governor places a moratorium on shutting off people who don't pay their utility bills. He's teaching people with limited moral character that it's ok not to pay your bills. I think that's a shame!
