Where once investors balked, BP'rs no exception, at the thought of investing in Detroit, MI, they are now taking a more serious look.  Those investors who weren't easily put off by the negative press, seeing opportunity instead, have been busy building a respectable portfolio.  That's not to say that many others lost their shirts in the process but that was due in large measure to ignorance, unfamiliarity with the area and the market, getting ripped off by less than honorable wholesalers, sellers, property management and/or a construction guy who promises to remodel your rental.

There's still plenty of opportunity to make good returns on your money, however, I still caution you not to go it alone. Detroit is still in the midst of a complete transformation, the evidence of which is everywhere now.  Here are a few links that may be of interest.
