Past Event- August 19th, 2014 NYC Meetup in Manhattan with BP VP & Author Brandon Turner

Hello fellow BiggerPockets members near the greatest city in the world, New York! I am pleased to announce that we have a very special guest attending our Meetup in Manhattan this August 19, 2014: BiggerPockets' VP, Marketing and Communications & Author Brandon Turner!

Brandon, along with his wife Heather, will be flying in all the way from a rural area of Washington State to join us for an incredible Meetup which will shift our focus back to Buy & Hold strategies. Brandon will be giving us a great presentation on raising money and purchasing buy and holds through partnerships.

For those of you who need a little back ground on Brandon: He's been a real estate investor since he was the age of 21 when he flipped his first home with the purpose of using the funds to backpack around Europe. Instead he used the funds to create a dream wedding for both he and Heather and in doing so he discovered himself and his future regarding real estate investing. Over the next few years he ended up doing a lot more real estate investing, gaining dozens of rental properties, partnering with different folks to find ways to invest in real estate without using their own cash by creating win-win solutions for others. It’s worked out really well for them and they continue to buy and rent properties.

Because of Brandon's experience and blogging online about his investing he was recruited by BiggerPockets' founder Josh Dorkin to take a full time role at BP.  Brandon has helped pen "The BiggerPockets Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing", "How to Rent Your House: The Definitive Step by Step Guide", "Tenant Screening: The Ultimate Guide", "Buying Rental Property: A Step by Step Guide" and much, much more.  I can continue to go on and on with all the amazing content that he's contributed to BiggerPockets.  And now he's about to have a book released tentatively titled," The Book on Creative Real Estate Investing" (which, according to Brandon, should be released before this event!) which is the next book being released by BiggerPockets.  You can learn more about Brandon by visiting: http://brandonturner.me/ .  You don't want to miss this event:

Again we'll be back at Pranna Restaurant on August 19th on the lower level.  Pranna is located at 79 Madison Ave (between 28th & 29th Street) in Manhattan.  We'll get going a bit earlier this time and start at 6:00pm and go to 10pm. Expect to hear a few words from our sponsor however there will be no hard selling or pitching of products or service. The Meetup is free for all members of BiggerPockets. There is no dress code. Come as you feel most comfortable to network. Again around 9pm we should have a very special announcement about our next meeting in September.

Even if you're brand new to BiggerPockets, a first time investor or a seasoned Pro, money lender or contractor, wholesaler or business professional, be sure to be there and meet other members and those interested in Real Estate investing from the NYC metro area which includes Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Orange County, Fairfield County CT, and Northern NJ. If you happen to live in Boston, Hartford, Springfield, Providence, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. you should try to make it.  All members from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maryland and Pennsylvania, it will be worth you driving in for the event.
