Hey Everyone At BiggerPockets.com!

My name is mark from Ventura County, CA. I have been reading and trying to learn everything I can about real estate the last 2 years and finally at a point in my life where I can start venturing out and actually active looking for properties. I am at this stage in my life trying to figure out my niche in the crazy real estate world we live in. I just love so many aspects of the real estate buying and selling process not sure where to begin. I think I want to focus and rehabbing and renting, but this whole sale aspect I am just learning about might be a good start for a newbie such as myself. But I am still learning so much, who knows where it will all take me. I hope to become and stay an active member of this site for sometime as everyone seems to have a weatlh of knowledge to offer as well as maybe make some good connections. A fan of Lake Piru huh? Thats a good little lake to go out and have some fun on. But unfortunately no its not lake piru. Not sure what lake it is, its a picture I found onthe internet that is similar to the malibu boat I have, thought it was a good pic to use! Its my happy place I go to on rough days at work! haha

Hey Mark!

I feel like I'm in the same boat as you. With soooo much info out there to read/learn, it's hard to make a decision on which method to use. I feel like I've learned a little bit about everything....but have done NOTHING! It can be very frustrating at times. I feel like the clock is ticking and I wanna get my feet wet.

I'm looking forward to going to some REI club meetings in the area and getting a "push" from other investors!

Welcome - I'm also new to this group, but wanted to let you know I'm also located in Ventura County. We should meet and hook up sometime and discuss oppotunities. Lots of those in this area with Oxnard probably being the lowest. I'm actually in T.O where prices seem to be on the higher end - even for REOs that require lots of rehab - John

The two you mentioned are the two I would refer you to. Rosie holds the Naked club, and Steve is the owner of the other. Both good clubs to join.
Just make sure you are on the look out for the "guru" style sellers you WILL encounter at times at club events. Far less of these are even welcome at Rosie's club than others throughout our state.
