Newbie from San Fernando Valley,Cali.

Hi,

I was/am a musician but the Arts are just not paying all that well at the moment (for most)...so..I had to make some choices awhile back..I have a girl I love who has stuck by me through enough tough times...and we both deserve better..so for the past cpl yrs I've been learning the REI theories/practices so to speak(very interesting cpl yrs to be learing REI)..and now..it's time to get practical..

I am fresh out of the gates,but I'm ready,willing and able to help investors save time by helping them find great deals on properties by assigning contracts w distressed sfr's etc.
From there I plan on getting into more and more complex transactions til it stops feeling good,and that is probably going to be my niche.After establishing a reliable cashflow I will get into buy and holds for long term wealth..
(these plans could change)
So after months and months and $ and $'s of schooling and guru's and software etc.. I am more than ready to get busy dealing humans face to face again..enough webinars!!

Now as I start marketing and attending local REI meetings tho, it's the real world and I feel a little bewildered as there are so many different avenues to go down.

I do not want to lose focus and am looking for a successful,ethical mentor here in so-cal who could use an assistant or at least others who are in my shoes and between us we can help out people who are heading into RE trouble this year..and make money too :-)

Rod... welcome to BP... this is a great site and almost any question you can ask will be answered here... with responses that you will be able to use.

The best way to succeed in this business is to pick one thing and become an expert at it!

As you mentioned... you are bewildered by the choices...

Know what you want and why real estate is the vehicle to take you there... focus on one thing and you will succeed.

Rod, Welcome to BP and great attitude. The guru courses are a good place to start for laying groundwork; but as Peter said you can get detailed answers from many pros on this site, without the $ involved. :D
