New to BP in Denton Texas

I am currently 60 years old working as the Field Reliability Engineering Manager for a major truck OEM. My wife and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this year. We have 7 children. We were foster parents for 15 years and helped 55 medically fragile infants survive and get into life. We didn't plan to enlarge or family but ended adopting 5 special needs children as infants. They are now 21 to 9 years old.
I have bought single family homes to live in and kept some as rentals. Eventually traded for an 11 unit apartment building and got burned. The seller had done some shady remodeling and filled it with fake renters. I lost money for several years and eventually donated the building to the church next door to convert to a halfway house to help former drug addicts get the help they need to recover.
I would like to eventually own some apartments as a long term investment.
