America doesn't come from politicians. It comes from people inventing things and creating. The telephone, the telegraph, the computer, electricity, automobiles none came from government. Our world is going to get better and better, as long as we keep taking the inititaves to make a difference."

That is the truth if it where not for political policies & greed. If we spent the money we spent on the Iraq war bringing the great minds of our time together like we did to create a nuclear bomb in WWII & only worked on energy solutions & what would really fix the econimy how much better off do you think we would be?

"The guy who delivered ice to my house, he doesn't have a job because we have refrigerators. We're better off. We would have been held back if we had tried to save his job."

The Washinton Post today ran an article, that all but straight out admitted complete bias towards Obama in their election coverage.

HUM

The "vast majority" of Americans are not on either side here. A slight majority of the people (52%) voted for Obama, while about 46% voted for McCain.

I wonder if the media had anything to do with that 6%?

What was the total voter turnout?

Japanese-American's were not slaves that labored on the construction of The White House.

They where busy building the RR's different time I know (just that the US has always taken advantage of desperate people) We (American Corperations) are doing it now in third world countries outsourcing American jobs to sweatshops paying pennies an hour. All in the name of higher profits.

The United States is now a debtor nation that is running toward socialism, while China is a creditor nation that is moving economically toward capitalism. What's wrong with this picture?

Nothing everything runs in cycles. (not that it is a good cycle)

Definition of Crazy=keep doing the same things expect different resaults.

That will probably happen when we become really worried that they won't buy any more of our debt.

Because of the structure of the FED is not all our money debt?

The Fiat money system= Fed prints paper calls it money sells it at 6% to the Gov. who gives them more paper T-bills.

They print 10 M loan 100 M with fractional lending practices (more money from nothing) thereby giving us loans with interest so we pay them more for there nothing.

So we don't invest; we work to pay our debts but work hard so you can get good credit so you can owe us more interest & we can keep you working for us to pay it off.

Are corpoations Fascist entities?

What happens to your right the second you punch the clock?

What are your opinions?

To tell everyone the truth I'm kind of surprised nobody has any opinions about anything on this post as all of it came either directly from this site or from links provided on this site.

Still I wanted to add one more thing check out this link:

I was watching a program about Free Masons on Nat Geo & they where talking about symbolism & how masionic symbols are everywhere, so I thought I wonder what these images symbolize (google symbolism arrows & axe) on either side of the podium in congress.

First thing you should see is the Wikipedia definition.

What the F would those be doing there?

Anybody

Yea Josh,

I got the same impression from James post still I think now is hardly the time to loose interest in our political and economic climate.

Besides I would not consider this one as political as much as a slap in the face of the American people.

I mean I just kind of happened across it & normally would not have given it a second thought but, to have seen what this really stands for pisses me off.

Why not just put a couple of swastikas up their too because they are by virtue featuring as a central symbol to both Buddhism and Hinduism.

It's no surprise masons and merchants banded together to get the US started. Frankly a "society" of merchants working together is the only thing that could have stood up to the entrenched power of royalty and keeping that society "secret" was clearly a means of self-preservation. Gotta remember that royalty didn't care for early America, especially after the French took on some of our ideas and got rid of their royalty.

Tim,

Thanks I appreciate your input.

To tell you the truth I spent some time thinking about it and perhaps I acted rashly on an emotional level. Upon some further research I found;

The traditional Roman fasces consisted of a bundle of white birch rods, tied together with a red leather ribbon into a cylinder, and often including a bronze axe (or sometimes two) amongst the rods, with the blade(s) on the side, projecting from the bundle.[3]. It was used as a symbol of the Roman Republic in many circumstances, including being carried in processions, much the way a flag might be carried today.

Numerous governments and other authorities have used the image of the fasces as a symbol of power since the end of the Roman Empire. It has also been used to hearken back to the Roman republic, particularly by those who see themselves as modern-day successors to the old republic and/or its ideals.

Believed to date from Etruscan times, the symbolism of the fasces at one level suggested strength through unity. The bundle of rods bound together symbolizes the strength which a single rod lacks. The axe symbolized the state's power and authority. The ribbons binding the rods together symbolized the state's obligation to exercise restraint in the exercising of that power. The highest magistrates would have their lictors unbind the fasces they carried as a warning if approaching the limits of restraint.

Traditionally, fasces carried within the Pomerium-the limits of the sacred inner city of Rome-had their axe blades removed. This signified that under normal political circumstances, the imperium-bearing magistrates did not have the judicial power of life and death; within the city, that power rested with the people through the assemblies. However, during times of emergencies when the Roman Republic declared a dictatorship (dictatura), lictors attending to the dictator kept the axe-blades even inside the Pomerium-a sign that the dictator had the ultimate power in his own hands.

Being that we were useing the symbol in congress prior to the fascist movement in Italy tarnished it's meaning. We should not let their actions demean the historical value of the symbol.

Still we should be aware of the last part in bold.

Could somebody, anybody name a government in which "the people" actually were the ultimate source of power?
The great experiment is exactly that, an unproven experiment.

Lord of the Flies.

Like it or don't like it, there is a class of leaders within every populace that must maintain control. Mob rule is not a viable strategy.
