Short travel report. Today visiting Ho Chi Mingh City. (saigon) Previously, visited Da Nang, and a chinese island. This is first area, I'd really not want to live in. It is 1:30 A.M. sat morning. Hard to get the body to sleep when it is supposed to.
Anyway, just wanted to check in. Have a great weekend and forgive me if I don't reply much till after dec 8. Rich, off viet nam coast.

I think I'm seeing why our country is in a bit of trouble. Last few days , on tours of Viet nam, and thailand, I've seen most of the companies that I recognize with gigantic plants!! When the labor pays $100-$200 per month, how can U.S. compete at that? These aren't just the show companies. I saw CAT as well as most auto, and electronic companies.
This has been an eye-opening week , with 3 more to go. Wifey and I are sitting with couples from Austrailia, Japan and Scotland. Great, interesting conversation. Tomorrow, Cambodia and then on to singapore to end this week.

There's a lot less time in your life than you think and only 2.5 months left to 2009. Do something interesting before the year is over. There will always be money to be made. You don't get a second chance at 2009.

There is even less time than you think Tim. Half of NOV and DEC is only 1.5 months. I guess you gained a month when you set your clock back that one hour.

Visited Singapore yesterday. What an example of a country. They are really doing lots of things correctly, imo. I'll blog on it when I return home in a couple weeks from my cruise. Have a great weekend. Rich off Indonesia.

Bali Thailand today and Komodo island tomorrow(famous for dragons). They can smell blood from TWO miles away, so no cuts or open bleeding. This should be interesting. Fascinating trip. Have seen ZERO other cruise ships, Next one due to Borobudur Christmas day. Wonderful site built 1300 years ago. Rich

The 1 1/4 of those that I would even consider, I can't afford. (one I would live in, the other, only if i had to, without much enthusiasm, the rest, no way).

But vacation in any of them? Sure.
