tool, hendrix, thelonious monk, antje duvekot, thrice, jimmy eat world, modest mouse, dream theater, rush, daft punk, radiohead, spoon, the arcade fire, ratm, tenacious d, metallica, the police, little river band, the carpenters, incubus, alice in chains, peter gabriel, beck, america, the beach boys, david bowie, billy joel, marley, breaking benjamin, system of a down, soundgarden, chevelle, foo fighters......I try to find solos by different artists too. I don't really have a favorite, and this is what I've been listening too over the past couple of months.

Nice list, Tony. I'm a classic rock guy, but I'll listen to almost anything that's quality. Modern rock has gone down the toilet in the past 10 years, but I'm getting into some classic jazz and blues lately instead.

That is a huge list, I do love tool's pu**** it live. However I enjoy almost anything but country. Sometimes you are in the mood for relaxing music, and sometimes I need a little aggressive music like AFI.

Yea, as far as tool, danny carey is a machine. One of the best on the planet. Lateralus is one of my favorite songs ever written. If you play music in any form, its hard to deny that what they do is great, no matter what your individual preferences are. I say this because many complain that its too " loud" .

I've heard better double bass work, and better snare work, but no one gets the point across like danny carey. He is a master craftsman.

Elton John always have and always will. His music transcends time; real music has a way of doing that. He is the last of the true male DIVAS.

Easy rock, jazz and I can be a bluesy kinda girl too

I to like classic rock. Way back once upon a time (late 70's) I was a DJ at a college radio station. Of course, it wasn't classic rock then.

I like alternative, too. Honestly, though, I don't much bother to remember the names.

Recent bands wise, Bare Naked Ladies is one of my favorites.

Long term, Grateful Dead (the only band I've seen multiple times in concern, including KC MO one night and STL the next), Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane (not Starship), Hot Tuna, and Spirit.

I'll also admit I like classical music and opera. La Traviata is my number one favorite, and I've seen that three times. Italian tragedies in general are my preference.

Music USED to be HUGE part of my life, as I am sure is the case for most of us at some point in time. Recently I really have not paid attention to anything much at all. Too much time listening to sports radio in the truck, and at home I dont really listen too much to any music.

I really was a product of the early 90's, so the music I really will always enjoy are from bands such as Pearl Jam, Alice n Chains, Candlebox, Stone temple Pilots, Soundgarden and Nirvana.

I really like any band with Dave Grohl such as Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters.

Collective Soul, Rage Against the Machine, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, NOFX, The Muffs

Lately if I listen to anything I am trying to broaden my horizons because the modern rock of TODAY is TERRIBLE.

I'm starting to get into Rockabilly, Phsycobilly type stuff. I really enjoy what we call " texas country" which is not typical country from the Radio, its more raw stuff, people like Hank III, Wayne Hancock, Unknown Hinson and the like.

I also found a band on myspace called " The Wrong Trousers" in whom I have really started to listen to as much as possible.

Oh and you cannot beat the Barenaked Ladies, I absolutely love their stuff.

Real Estate Investor · Indiana, Indiana

Classic rock is great and some modern rock is good as well.

I hear you on classical Wheatie. La Traviata was a beautiful opera. I get into The Magic Flute too - that's a fun one. On the instrumental side I love Vivaldi. Have you ever heard of Vanessa Mae? She's a violinist who does some pretty cool interpretive takes on some of the classics. Here's one: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=145037482

Real Estate Investor · Chicago, Illinois

My musical tastes would easily be called " eclectic" . My ipod is all over the place with music genres as well as educational tidbits.

I do enjoy some classic Singer Songwriter stuff when the mood hits. I note that wasn't really spelled out here. Greats like Buffett, James Taylor, Jim Croce, etc... I recently heard of a new artist, Brett Dennen, that seems to be pretty decent of what I have heard so far.

At the same time, U2 will forever be my favorite group I think, but the Stones, Beatles, etc are right there behind them.

My music is a lot like I am, all over the place! I love everything from Jazz and Blues to under ground hip hop. It's all about making me move, if it makes me want to dance I generally like it!

You can't go wrong with AC/DC, CCR and Skynyrd.

Classic rock is probably my fav. But lately I have been getting into the so called red dirt or outlaw county. Shooter Jennings, Stoney LaRue, Cross canadia ragweed.

I played a trumpet in my grammar and high school bands, so I can find beauty in most any music. This time in my life makes me like Jazz, Ambient and New Age types of music. I enjoy music instrumentals more than lots of rapping and singing. I need to think while I drive.

I am fond of listening to rnb music and slow rock music, I cannot put them here for I have many on th list...I just make fun listening to those songs.

I like smooth Jazz.

My favorite is Kenny G... ( I LOVE him), others in my collection are Stanley Clark, Goerge Duke, Wynton Marsalis, Stanley Jordan, Spyro Gyra, Najee.

I have not been able to attend any Caribbean Jazz festivals recently, but its about time I scheduled that into my busy life again. Popular Jazz musicians congregate on different Caribbean Islands each year for the Tropical Jazz Festival of a lifetime.

Seems like Jazz Festivals are a central theme for many tourist bureau's in the Caribbean. I am not sure who enjoys them more, the tourists or the locals. It works to combine a great tourism product with great music. After all, music is an international language.. it brings people together, regardless of their background.
