I was just having a casual conversation with a couple of realtors an office manager and one of thier vendors and these guys think I'm a conspiracy theorist based on what we talk about here everyday.

I mean I'm sighting investment advisors the MBA actual #'s.

And these "sheeple" think if they did not hear it on the news it's a conspiracy.

That the government has everything under control and that I'm just one of those crazy guys that doesn't trust the gov.

I was dumbfounded at how they just dismiss all the evidence that we still have a ways to go down. They think everything is fine and the economy is on it's way back right now!

This raises some serious concerns for me as to the level of understanding that most people have of the economy and RE market even realtors and entrepreneurs .

Matty,

I thought you where joking about that!

I mean I was begining to think what I was talking about was common knowledge turns out if I'm not speaking with one of you guys an IA, stockbroker, banker, or someone involved in the secondary mortgage market people don't have a clue.

Anyway i just wanted to do some venting thanks for reading!

Best,

Lee,

Why would it surprise you that most people don't understand the economy? Most of the people in this country today can't understand anything more complex than "American Idol". And they're happy that way!

Maybe if Simon Cowell were to address the nation on the economy they would listen

Most people do not have a clue as to what's going on or how serious the economic situation is. They live in their own little world and rarely let reality intrude. Unfortunately about 535 of these people are our elected officials in Washington. People are waiting for the Messiah (Obama) to fix everything but he faces an impossible task.

It's that they are not your average couch potatoes!

You know what I mean?

I considered them to professionals and peers who would have some understanding based on their fields.

Thats all

I was just unimpressed.

Thanks for your responses

I appreciate it!

Lee -
Most people just want to live their lives and stay in their bubble of comfort. It is hard to fathom how bad things can get because we're so privileged to live in a country that is so isolated. There aren't wars on our soil, mass famine, mass disease, or other visible crises.

If I close the windows and turn on Idol everything looks good to me too.

Lee,

It isn't surprising. We do nothing to teach our young how to understand, much less manage, their financial affairs.

After all, these people you are now unimpressed with were probably chanting how real estate could only go up just a couple of years ago.

Just be thankful you took the RED pill.

Taz,

LMAO

And you are correct!

Lee - That is hilarious!

Thanks for sharing. Next mention that the people who run things want the general population watching hours and hours of TV so we can stay ignorant and dumbed down. The Realtors and Office Manager will have you committed.

I really am starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist. But I assure you I am just here to learn how to navigate through the system and build wealth. That and make some friends with common interests.

Rock on Lee!

Don't forget why they call them "brokers". They are broker than most.

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see conspiracies either. Aside from the white house appointees that had to withdraw under criminal investigation - you have lobbyists being appointed in direct violation to the executive order to not appoint lobbyists. Maybe it's not conspiracies - maybe it's just stupidity. Hey there's a new one. You can be a stupidity theorist.

People call me a conspiracy theorist when I tell them the Federal reserve and IRS are not government organizations

IRS is a government organization, it is part of the Treasury Dept.

Fed is a quasi-government organization, it is owned by member banks.

You are not a conspiracy theorist when there ACTUALLY IS A CONSPIRACY!

What we're experiencing is the largest conspiracy in the history of the world. The insidious nature of this conspiracy is that it's not being run in secret from a smoke-filled room. This conspiracy is being run with the full approval of the majority of the ignorant public. The conspirators (government) are using the laziness and greed of the public AND the "financial crisis" they've created to succeed in their conspiracy with nary a complaint.

When you turn people into entitled victims with handouts and then threaten their easy way of life and imaginary borrowed lifestyle with a "crisis", you've got a blank check.

This government conspiracy makes the Bernie Madoff ponzie scheme look like a minor shoplifting incident. There is much wailing and gnashing of teeth over Madoff stealing $50 Billion, but our own government has stolen TRILLIONS and they are in the process of taking away our capitalistic system in favor of socialism.

The bottom line is that this is not a conspiracy theory, it is a successful conspiracy that has ended in a coup that didn't require a single gunshot!

By the way, everyone on this thread is now flagged by the FBI.

Taz and MikeOH, we already knew about you two.

Sincerely,

The FBI.

Yeah, well, I already know I have an FBI file and they have my fingerprints.

No, not for what you are thinking...

Concealed carry permits

And ...

Top Secret Security Clearance

They know exactly where to find me because I can't get anyone to remove my tracking chip.

The chip was a joke, lighten up, okay? I'm being good Mr. Handler, I promise.

Speaking of government conspiracies, why is it that everyone is so upset with this Bernie Madoff guy for his 50 billion dollar Ponzi scheme? They keep saying how it's the biggest Ponzi scheme ever, but it's not even close. The biggest Ponzi scheme has now been going on for about 7 decades, and it's being perpetrated on all of us to the tune of hundreds of billions.

It's called Social Security.

Yeah, that's been discredited many times.

(3) Consultation with Board
The Commissioner shall consult with the Oversight Board on all matters set forth in paragraphs (2) and (3) (other than paragraph (3)(A)) of section 7802 (d).

I despise the IRS as much as the next person, but it is just lunacy to follow the whacky theories about them not having legal authority. Well, unless that is you like the idea of becoming a member of the not so elite federal inmate society.

Don't take my word for it, the federal laws are all on-line to anyone wanting to look.
