Stock... what's hot for you guys

I am throwing some $ into the market (not much) but just curious on what you guys are buying right now.
I am only throwing $500 in an AmeriTrade account - just wanting to know suggestions.
I thought about going off the cart and buying GM, Winnebago and maybe some Harley. But a firend that does this for a living is saying Verizon, Exxon-Mobile.

I'd look for companies that do prepaid debit cards with VISA and MC logos. The sheep were moved to a cashless society and then the credit well was dried up. They're used to using a card and will gladly pay a fee to convert cash into fake credit because they need the VISA / MC logo to continue to do business.

I am not a stock guru by any means and now I am thinking throwing $500 is a waste - you can't get crap for $500.

I am going to day trade for the next 3 weeks while I am on vacation but I normally don't. I want to try and make some quick cash with AIG, C, or BAC.

and yea $500 doesn't get much after transaction fees.

All I did was buy Conoco-Phillips (COP) 13 shares.

if you are looking to day trade:

sfk on days that you think the financial sector will do poorly

and

uyg on the days that you think it will do well.

I have been buying ENS -Enersystems. The company is a world leader in the industrial batteries business. also, they have been buying up competition while maintining a strong balance sheet i.e. low debt. This stock is priced at $10 per share I predict $52 in 5 years. later......... :idea:

I bought Ford(F), Bank of America (BAC), Sirius(SIRI), Citigroup(C), Fannie Mae(FNM), Freddie Mac(FRE), and AIG back in March 09 (around the time of the Bail Out)and have seen about a 150% return so far..........

Lehman Bros. might actully be a good suggestion, gettin in for just a dime a share, if it goes to .11 your up 10%, this can happen in no time at all.. id say its actually a good pick.

With only $500 I wouldnt open a TDA account, I'd look into a simpler trading platform with cheaper prices, I'd suggest Zecco.

For monday the 29th I'd suggest SNSS.. its .89 right now.. almost a guarantee 10% for the day.. good luck! :)

and if SNSS is too cheap you for.. my second vote is MILL.. at $5.28..
