Having trouble following all the Republican sex scandals the past couple years?

Here's a flow chart that will help:

I don't think we need a chart to know that the Republicans are COMPLETE FAILURES! I would like to see the party disolved adn a new party started with ALL NEW PEOPLE!

Hey Mike,

I didn't mean for this to be a partisan joke or to start a political thread!

I would have been happy to post the same with Democrats if I had found that (I didn't create this)...I'm sure I could probably dig up a "Flow Chart for Democrats Wasting Money" if I looked... :)

It is amazing. Whenever there is a Republican in trouble the liberals delight in the fact. When a Democrat is in trouble the conservatives gloat.

This is not a Republican or Democrat issue, it is a human issue.

Before taking a swipe at the Republicans, let's look at some of the recent Democrats in trouble:

Elliot Spitzer - NY Governor resign over prostitute scandal.

James McGreevy - NJ Governor - resigned over gay sex scandal

John Edwards - former senator and presidential candidate - extramarital affair

Bill Clinton - President - admitted affair with Monica Lewinsky (that was the best he could do?)

JFK - numerous rumored affairs including Marilyn Monroe (at least he had better taste than Clinton)

This is a bipartisan issue if ever there was one. Thee are three main motivators in life: money, power and sex. Politicians are in an environment where they have access to all three. This will continue to happen and people will continue to point fingers

The big difference is that many of these Republicans stand on a platform of "family values"...

The Democratics don't even claim to care about being good people... :D

Not sure which is worse...

Again, although it may be hard to believe at times, it shows that they are all human. Spitzer was very outspoken on his anti-prostitution stance and family values as much as any Republican.

Agreed. Which is why Spitzer correctly resigned...

Remember, all politicians are human, yet most of them have been able to steer clear of political or personal scandal. So, being human is not an excuse.

For the ones that screw up, they should step down...regardless of political party...

Richard,

You forgot about Barney Frank and the gay prostitute business that was being run from his home.

There's been a history of sex scandals amongst politicians of all parties leading back to the third president of the U.S. (that we know of), Thomas Jefferson. Benjamin Franklin, while he was the US Minister to France, was frequently known to take steam baths with French politician's wives. This is nothing new.

What is new is the second president ever in the history of the United States to get impeached. Democrats are still pissed about that. That's where all this partisanship related to sex scandals stems from.

"The big difference is that many of these Republicans stand on a platform of "family values"..."

And Democrats don't? Tell me about REVERAND Jesse Jackson. Wasn't he Clinton's minister after his affair? Golly - it's easy to feel better about yourself when you're own "minister's" getting some strange on the side.

Wow, so defensive! I didn't mean for this to be a partisan issue...it was just a joke.

Here, if this will make you feel better, according to Fox News all those Republicans are actually Democrats anyway:

It was an honest mistake...Fox just assumed that if these guys were cheating with a woman, then they were Democrats. The Republicans tend to cheat with men...

That was a joke, people... :)

Oh, so you weren't being partisan. Please. I think I need a shovel for this kind of defense. The first word of the title of this thread calls out one political party.

You never did comment on Jesse Jackson. What is your reply to me calling you out on a Democrat who portrays himself as a spiritual leader while cheating on his wife? You started the discussion right down this partisan path. You didn't have to, but you did.

Real Estate Investor · Indiana, Indiana

You know what does piss me off. A sex scandal gets more press than cap and trade....even here on an investing forum where you'd think we'd f-ing know better! That's it, screw this sex scandal crap. I'm starting a new thread on prepping for cap and trade.

Ummm...the title reflected the title of the picture that I linked to (that I didn't create).

Also, just to be clear, I'm not a Democrat (or a Republican). In fact, I'm a Libertarian, so if you had to classify me anywhere, I'm more to the right than you...

You never did comment on Jesse Jackson. What is your reply to me calling you out on a Democrat who portrays himself as a spiritual leader while cheating on his wife?

Who the hell cares about Jesse Jackson?!?!?

He hasn't been elected to any office (at least not in the past 15 years), so as far as I'm concerned, I really don't care about his ethical values. Oh, and the religious ones tend to be the biggest hypocrites when they get caught in their sex scandals.

You started the discussion right down this partisan path. You didn't have to, but you did.

I don't like the Democrats or the Republicans...but moreso I just hate hypocrites...in this case, people who fight for "family values" but have none...

I didn't ask you what party you were but expected this reply as it's the third or fourth time you've had to remind people of where you stand. When what you say doesn't speak for itself as to where you claim to stand, it's time to start some self examination. I don't think I've ever had to say I'm a conservative.

To be precise, it's been 12 years since former Democrat Presidential Candidate Jesse Jackson he retired from his last elected position. 2 years after he retired is when he was alleged to have participated in the affair. Who cares about the Democrat political figure and spiritual leader REVERAND Jesse Jackson cheating on his wife? One would think that those who care about calling out people who have a stance on family values would.... Funny, didn't you just mention hypocrisy?

You bring up an excellent point. I just spent the last hour or so re-examining, and I'm proud to report that I'm still a Libertarian.

I don't think I've ever had to say I'm a conservative.

Ummm...except for just then.

Well, that's definitely accurate, but not very precise. But, most people confuse the two words, so I won't hold it against you.

First, since you capitalized and bolded it (indicating you think it's important), I guess I should point out that "Reverend" is spelled with an "e" not an "a"...

As for your question, I dislike Jackson very much because of his hypocrisy, but because he is not in a position of trust (as far as I'm concerned), it makes no difference to me whether he is ethical or not.

As for politicians who *are* in a position of trust (as far as I'm concerned), I care very much about whether they are ethical or not.

My personal opinion. They are all a bunch of lying bas*****. I would trust the homeless guy on the street to hold my wallet before I would trust a politician.

You can't talk to anybody about issues because if you say anything negative about the democrats you are a right wing nutcase, and if you say anything negative about the republicans you are a leftwing nutcase.

All they care about is their own political power. I don't want the government involved in every aspect of my life. I want them all to have less power.
