There was recently a debate on this site about the licensing requirements to take pictures of a house in return for compensation. In that thread, I had a little rant about the creeping role of the licensing into all walks of our economic lives to the detriment of our nation as a whole.

It appears that the proportion of the workforce that is in "licensed" jobs has been steadily going up for several decades. It used to be less than 5% of the workforce half a century back, and has now reached 20% of the workforce. No wonder some people think that one would need a license to tak pics of a house.
