Actuall yes, when I was in highschool I asked my mom why they didn't put coffee in small bags like tea to make a single cup.
I came up with a camper shell that folded up behind the cab of a pickup and fit in an enclosure when it wasn't needed, that was about 1969.
About the same time I made a front seat that fit between the drop down handle bars of my bike to put my little sister in. I made it from a basket for the rear of a bike, turned it sideways, cut out holes for her legs, padded and covered it. She loved it. They didn't have kids' seats then.
I use to road race bicycles nationall ranked, I'd ride a hundred plus miles at a time. One water bottle was not enough. I used a hot water bottle with some tubbing.....was that the first camel back?
I set up the first "system" to service seller financed notes and installment contracts with a guarantee, like PMI, for seller financed deals. Now, there are many servicers specializing in private paper, not sure if anyone guarantees them.
Lots of little things you wonder about and then someone brings it to market and then you say Geeez, I coulda done that!
Yes, numerous times. Including ideas that I've proposed to my company, only to have rejected and then see another company bring to market. But, as my son says every time I say "hey, I though of that", "You didn't do jack about it, did you?" Fortunately, some of them have actually turned into patents.
Well Jon truthfully that is no surprise to me coming from you.
At least now that you have those links that will never happen again.
I invented the ab roller in my basement when I was 16 a dumbbell with one old weight on it.
And I'm not talking about any others till I finish my patent searches.
I was the first to think of the Shake Weight.
I won't say what inspired me.
I once really had this great idea...It was a "Jump To Conclusions Table"

My current project is software that calculates equity on real estate investments. Except I just keep getting circular errors.

Lol, Good one Paul.
Wow Bill! You must be shaking your head over the Starbucks/Green Mountain deal.
I had the idea for the removable car stereo after mine got stolen at a Heart concert back in the 80's. My uncle invented the Pizza Cutter when he was young but never got a patent. What a home run that would have been.
Don't sweat it Tod
