It was down for a few hours a couple days ago, but it's been working just fine for me since then.
Up and down, up and down. Not working for me now. Kind of a pain since I have rents deposited directly.

When I went there it said it was down, but it still had a link for online banking. I was able to log in to my account and see the balance. However I didn't attempt to do any transfers, etc. so I don't know if that's working.
After all the news media about their new debit card fee starting in the New Year I just dropped their banking services today.

I think a lot of people are doing that...
However, the debit card issue doesn't bother me that much. It's not surprising that the banks are passing this cost on to the consumer after congress blocked them from charging the merchants for the debit fees.
The way I see it, the only advantage of using the debit card for purchases is to get cash back if you aren't near your own bank's ATM. Studies have shown that people who use cards instead of cash tend to waste more money and not pay as much attention to the purchase price. And there's the possibility (although remote) of someone stealing the PIN and taking money from your account.
Personally I think it's better to just use cash or a credit card that you pay off every month.
I still can't figure out why any of you would continue using BofA, not just because of this new debit card fees, but for all the crooked things they have and continue doing.

I don't particularly care for them--I don't like the way they'll use any opportunity to pitch their stupid "Privacy Guard" service (but they aren't the only bank that does this type of thing, of course). But I've never had any of the nightmare problems with them that some other people talke about. What's been keeping me there is inertia.
