I was just daydreaming a bit after a day of hellish weather here in Denver. I thought I'd see what everyone's thoughts are on this important issue:
What is your favorite vacation spot and why? :joker:

Well so far mine is mallorca, spain. Its an island of the coast of spain. I stayed at a resort that was 'everything included' which meant free booze, free food, and a lot of good fun. It was one of my most favorite times. If you like to travel you should definetly check it out. Beautiful place
Steamboat Springs Colorado. Winter or summer it's great.
I went to Mallorja a looong time ago. It was so long ago that when I got there Richard Nixon was President, when I left, Geral Ford was! It was nice, but Steamboat has it beat!

I'm just a country boy from Texas and I used to love camping. As our business has grown my wife finally let me know that sleeping on the ground was not going to be a part of her future.
I enjoyed the two cruises we've taken but some folks hate them.
I prefer the fly by the seat of my pants type of vacation. Just go somewhere and rent a car and do whatever you feel like. I've done these across the US and once in Costa Rica.
I don't do that well with preplanned tourist stuff like Disney World. I've done it for the kids but I don't love it.
My favorite spot is on a cruise ship. You visit different places but take your accommodations and meals with you.

Must have been that rainy Tuesday. Rained like that, or worse, all the time when I lived in Houston. But weird since coming to Denver. I'll take it over those months of snow, though.
Dunno if I have a real favorite spot. Pretty much anywhere with beaches with lounge chairs and drinks will do. Vegas is fun, too, with enough money.
Some places I've been to that I liked:
Big Island - amazing how clear the water is.
Kauai - water not as clear, but better beaches. A very mellow place.
Goa - Only here one weekend when I was working in Bangalore. Great beaches. Water was nicely warm in June. Should have been raining like crazy, but wasn't.
Paris - I love all those small cafes and restaurants.
Vegas - No explanation needed, is there?
Steamboat - I'm with allcash here, a great place. Really, my favorite ski area. Never been there in summer, so might have to check that out. Grassy ski runs make me depressed.
Glenwood springs has better springs than Steamboat, IMHO. But, there's not much else to do. I'll admit I love lazing in the hot springs when its snowing and the lifeguards are bundled up in parkas. Its just surreal.
I'd like to make it to Aruba sometime. Beaches AND casino's!
I'd have to say traveling around Australia... You can go once, twice, three times and still discover something new and exciting along the way!
Even though we are younger than many of the residents, my wife and I love Palm Springs, California. We have been there twice and we were married there on our first trip in a park that was dedicated by Frank Sinatra to the City of Rancho Mirage, which is next door to Palm Springs. The mountain views and the feel of exclusivity make it nice for us. We tend to like places that everyone else may not like so much. Look up Cap Jaluca, am Island in the Caribbean. My friend is honeymooning there this summer and it looks like a great place.
I love the sand and beach when I'm on vacation.
So Far, the places I love are:
Jamaica - love the water, the food...
Bahamas - some areas are a bit commercial, but we enjoyed ourselves...again, great beach and water.
Antigua -really LOVED it here. We stayed in a bungalow that when you open the door, you are maybe 10 paces away from the ocean. There was no tv, a/c, radio...nothing, my husband and I had a great time and we slept REALLY well from the sound of the ocean.
Aruba - went for 10 days for our honeymoon. Went booze cruisin, parasailing, jet skiing, horseback riding...a lot of fun.
Looking forward to going to Maui this summer.
Other places I'd like to visit...
Fiji
Bora Bora
St. Lucia
Turks and Caicos
Barbados
Florence
Milan
Paris
Canary Island
And the list goes on. :superman:
We stopped here on a cruise and some of the crew members recommended a place called the blue hole. It was very cool place to swim with waterfalls and a couple of local guys " guided" us up the river about 400 yds and showed us all the cool spots. No one else was there. It was probably one of the best vacation experiences ever for me.
Well I haven't gotten a chance to travel much lately but any camping spot with a nice fire, good company, good music, and some cold beers would be perfect. I've checked off most of the continental US, parts of W.Europe but haven't checked out any tropical climes.
On my list are central America and the Bahamas..... gotta sell some houses first!!
Clearwater Beach

If you're looking for fun, sun, and sand, Clearwater Beach has plenty of all three. Miles of silky, white sand and turquoise water are perfect for swimming, beachcombing, days spent relaxing on the beach and romantic walks at sunset. We love it. You can't go wrong with a vacation at Clearwater Beach.
We vote for Clearwater Beach Florida!
Take care.
Hands down it's Maui, Hawaii --- the blue skies and clear water and beautiful exotic flowers.
Monico and Monte Carlo!!!
The people are laid back and friendly. The beaches are great. You can easily get to Italy, France, or Spain from there. It's got everything I'd ever need to relax and have fun!
Maui HI is close to the top.
Venice Italy works for me also.
In the past I traveled a lot so my day job sometimes felt like a holiday. Turning in to work a taxi receipt for a ride up the Grand Canal in Venice felt pretty good. I was heading to a meeting in Switzerland and I needed to get from the beach to the rental car office for the drive.
I liked the time I spent in Bali.

I guess I'm a simple girl, or possibly not well traveled. Santa Cruz is just so relaxing to me. The sound of the waves and lazy days just seem to agree with me.
Simple? Hard to say.
Santa Cruz is a great place so many it is one of the top places to be. It does show up on a number of surveys.
