I am looking for some foreclosures around in or around Austin Texas.
You and half of the U.S. Foreclosures at the courthouse aren't worth bidding on.
What is it you are looking for specifically?

The VAST MAJORITY of foreclosures at the courthouse certainly aren't worth bidding on, but there are those very few that turn out to be worthwhile IMO.
In Austin...We went for months and there are some outright idiots bidding on stuff in Austin right now.
Sorry...I should have specified, but I figured everyone knew the post was about Austin.

Idiot bidders are EVERYWHERE!
I always hope to find one that isn't on anybody else's radar, and every now and then it happens. Getting into bidding wars is not so profitable IMO.
Fair enough...but I think Austin has an unusually high number of idiots bidding at the Travis County auction. It simply isn't worth my time to go anymore...and I doubt it is worth any other serious investor's time. There are much better places to find deals in Austin.

I agree with Bryan. Used to live in Austin. People there are nuts buying way to high. I don't bother with the courthouse. Why put all of your cash into one property. You can leverage and buy a few.
I have moved to San Antonio with a job change. Looking for buy and hold properties.
I have heard Williamson County has some decent deals and fewer bidders. I need to run by there one day and see if there is anything worth chasing.
Austin is a waste of time though IMO.
