I was wondering if anybody has Susan Lassiter Lyon's course on Bulk REO Secrets. The concept seems great and the price isn't to bad. But these days I am not willing to waste any money on courses that aren't legit. So anybody with feedback would be great. Thanks!

Hey Thomas, if you take a look at the bulk reo forum, you'll quickly see that you should probably be spending your time on other ventures than trying to learn "Bulk REO Secrets."

Retain your credibility and move on to an area of real estate where there aren't so many frauds.

I'm always (not really) surprised that people are so quick to dismiss a strategy that they've never personally tried.

There are many "jokers and brokers" aka "compilers and mandates" in the bulk REO brokering space because they have no idea how to identify the true buyers and get direct access to the packages.

This course is a direct result of my personal success in this space and because there's another course on the topic that I thought was way overpriced.

The bulk REO strategy isn't for everyone but there are investors that are succeeding so "don't knock it until you've tried it."

Thanks Susan, I never knock anything until I try it. I'm kind of focused at getting some other things going right now, but I'm very curious about the bulk REO's. I may end up picking the course up a little bit later, but right now I'm inquiring. I am open to all answers, but I am smart enough to know that some people are just too easily influenced by opinions before they have even tried it. I found that out reading some of the reviews on courses and "gurus" by people who don't even have them. Thanks

If you are that good at it, why are you not just doing it? Why bastardize it?

I have not purchased the progarm from Susan, but I must interject something.

I have sent lots of time not only reading her Blog, but attending the webinars she puts on. And I have learned lots from her. Susan truly knows about the subjects she teaches. She is one person that does offer lots of info for free along with items she sells. But all-in-all, she teaches some pretty good content. Some is real advanced, but everything that I have attempted that I learned from her site and webinars has actually worked.

One last item, I am not affiliated with her or any of her companies in any way. Also, I send lots of time on here helping others, so I am not a 1 post wonder. Plus, all that know me, know that I really can't stand or believe most "guru's".

And I don't even know what bastardize means so I had to look it up. The dictionary says:
1 : to reduce from a higher to a lower state or condition : debase
2 : to declare or prove to be a bastard
3 : to modify especially by introducing discordant or disparate elements

Since bulk REO's parents were probably married at the time of birth, #2 doesn't apply.

So, I'm not sure that I've lowered it's esteem by debasing it or that I've introduced any "discordant or disparate elements."

I had a bunch of people asking me how to do it, I've done it so I created a course. A really cheap one by the way.

Folks, keep this on topic. This is getting too personal. The topic at hand is not Susan or Jeff, but the course being discussed. I've not see this course, and you all know I'm quite skeptical of this whole bulk REO business, but I do know Susan personally and I do not believe she's ripping anyone off.

Let me interject here. I have PERSONAL experience in the bulk world, am a top contributor to this site, and also have spoken to Susan personally.
Now that I have given my resume :)
I was and still am, disgusted with the bulk REO world. It is full of wannabies, daisy chains, and people who are no more direct to the seller than I am to George Washington! That all said, there are a select few who do have some conections to real product.
Susan has in fact proved to me that she is not one of the wannabies, although I have no direct evidnece or dealings with a real deal. I do believe $97 for informative information is usually well worth it, specifically if it comes from someone who has not spammed our Nation here on BP with crap!

If you (Thomas) are a bigginer in RE investing, I do suggest you start off with a more basic level strategy of investing, but that is not to say you could not succeed with the program. The real key (with any program) is the buyer's desire and efforts to actually do and put forth the efforts.

I just got the course, and would be happy to give you a review once I go through it.

Also wanted to add that most rei courses offer a money back guarantee, so if you end up buying something and it turns out to be a piece of crap, you can always return it and get your money back...

I personally have gained quite a bit of rei knowledge from buying courses and attending seminars. Like Will said- it really comes down to your desire to succeed and your willingness to take action once you have digested the information..

How was this not on topic? If this was NRU it would be fair game. But because some people here personaly know her its not? So we all call out NRU because it costs 15K, but if it costs $97 for common sense info its okay?

Thats hilarious Jeff. You do have a point, NRU gets slammed here, but a lot has to do with the fact that those morons come in here and spam how everyone needs to attend or they will never know how to invest, yet most of them have never invested!
I don't think that is the case with Susan, but in all fairness Jon, I think Jeff has a point. Lets just try and keep the "questioning" on a less than "a shot across the bow" manner.

Before I commented I googled Susan. I was impressed with some of her musings on her blog. But the product webpage screamed info guru. I work in this world. I hang up, on at least 2 people a week who just bought a webnair or a course and now want to chase their bulk REO pipedreams.

Yes, Jeff, you do make a good point. I hesitated posting, for fearing show favoritism. However, Susan is not coming here spamming the forums like the NR guys do. She's not charging $1000 like most of these courses. Yes, its more than a book, and yes, you might be able to figure this out on your own. But this (bulk REO) is one area where the available information is minimal.
