Do you "Twitter"??

Seems to be the hot new thing. Notice all the news cable shows are using it, local news, etc?
Thoughts?
I am at Steadivest, llc if anyone else is using it.

That said, there is also a Twitter group here on BP where Twits (is that what they're called?) can connect.

Along the same lines, what would users of BiggerPockets be called? Big Pocketers? Bigger Peeps? I'm not sure . . . anyone?

So far, I haven't found it useful.

Too confusing because I had no idea what topic they were talking about.

It appear that it requires you to be on top of Twitter 24/7 if you want to keep up on a dialog or two, or three, or four....

I like twitter because it allows me to stay on top of the latest news for the sites I like to go to. I used to get newsletters in my email but it filled it up so much, I couldn't keep up! Now, I can just go to twitter and check out the latest news for the sites and also people to keep in touch with. Hope that helps!

p.s. I think the twitter group here is great, it's a good source of help and info. My twitter is mobilehomegurl. :)

I use Twitter on a regular basis, it's a great way to make friends and build traffic to a website. I actually met a local realtor who wholesaled us a property. We got a great deal and he made $7K in a week.

What am I missing....something may come out of this that is actuallly useful to me, but as of the last time I tried it made no sense to look at a bunch of twittering tweets

Mike, I feel your pain and am working at trying to figure this Twitter thing out.

I have some friends who have told me it is a great way to drive traffic to your website and make connections.

To me, it looks like even social networking has taken a turn for the lazy! :lol:

However, every single time I turn on the TV, I am seeing people talking about Twitter! Everyone from P Diddy to John McCain!!! So there must be something to it!!

I have pages on most of the major social network sites, and the only ones where I have seen value are:

- Bigger Pockets (Real Estate Networking)
- Linkedin (Corporate Networking)
- SmallerIndiana (Local Networking)

So we will see how Twitter does over the coming months.

The twitter web interface is very lacking.

To get the most from Twitter you need to use something like TweetGrid or TweetDeck. I use TweetDeck and follow the #tcot, #realestate #investing and #investment streams.

It's kind of like a big wide open chatroom and the hash tags like #tcot help group things together.

Yes, you click on the search button and enter #tcot for example and it will group all posts that have #tcot in them.
