I was online and googled it a couple weeks ago. 2 part do -it - yourself spray foam insulation was like 650 bucks for the two freon tank size canisters,,enough for a supposed 650 square feet. Seems sorta high,,specailly since shipping adds another 100 bucks to it. This was on E-Pay and a private site both,,no others did I find.

Had "This Old House" on just now,,,that guy said its about 350 bucks for the two part,,where does HE get it for that price?? Anyone have a cheaper place to buy this stuff??

Want to spray this stuff in crawl spaces and basements in floor joist,,,rim joist area,sill plate areas to keep cracks and such sealed up and crawl spaces warmer,thus floors etc.

and NO I cant insulate the floor joists cause the crawl area has water pipes in there,has to stay above freezing anyway and has a heat run to keep warmer there anyway!! When she gets 20-30 below,,,and the wind is blowing 89 per,,,she needs to NOT get hard inside the pipes,,which does happen some now,but hasnt burst yet in 35 years or so!!

Anyone have a 'source' of less cost??thanks- just don-

Just as a matter of reference,,,how many sf is in a can like Great Stuff,,,or its generic forms???

The little cans are pretty darn cheap,sometimes on big sales at Mennards here.

A buck a square foot is pretty expensive when you consider its only an inch thick,,, so if you want 3 inches its 3 bucks a square foot,,,yikes.

Like you said,,,takes LOTS of tips,,,if you stop for 30 seconds the tip HAS to be changed!!
