can anyone share pls?
thx!
Depends greatly on where and who owns the billboard. You can rent the side of privately owned commercial buildings for a couple hundred bucks a month.
It depends on how much traffic there is on highway where the billboard post is located, the size of it, its visibility (from one or two sides) etc etc. The costs indeed can add up. Make sure you get what you pay for.
It all depends on location...I have never done it, but in my area investors say they go for about $12,000 a month
However, you would be much better off spending $12,000 on highly targeted direct mail...it's better to have the rifle approach than the shotgun approach.
Just did a recent bill-board contract, here are the approx numbers:
Traffic count: 52,000
12 rotating ads
$3,500 per ad/per month
Mike,
You're not kidding. I just recently found out how that biz works. It's pretty amazing. Companies like Lamar and Summit can really rake it in.
However, I don't think highway traffic gets credited the same as in-town local traffic. The details I posted were in-town numbers.
Billboards are big money......That's how Ted Turner started out. His father owned billboards all over.
On major highways you'd be up against Clear Channel. It's not impossible but it's like starting a retail store right next to Walmart.
