The worst marketing sin is not doing it at all, the second worst is not doing it consistently and the third worst is not measuring the effectiveness along the way.

It looks like you're making one of the marketing sins, Trace. I'm guessing that you didn't read the site's rules and have now got the dreaded "REMOVED" mark on your posts. That can't be good for your marketing efforts. If you can't follow simple rules, why would people want to do business with you?

It would seem that b) would be the appropriate answer here.

The real worst marketing sins are those mentioned by Taz in his post above.

For getting to put your phone number or contact info in the ad. I have not committed that sin. But I have seen ads with that simple but needed info missing.

Thanks for all of your inputs. Here's my answer:

The answer is d. followed closely by the e. And yet every time I watch TV or notice the billboards on the streets, I've seen these sins violated again and again. Most marketing is boring. And most marketing is not clear about what they are trying to sell. And most marketing to sell houses are boring. Yes, they might be clear that the ad is for a house for sale, but most of the time, the marketing is not clear as to why I, as the potential buyer should be interested in the house they're selling.

Taz, I completely agree with your points. I'd like to add one more:

Underestimating the poor credibility relayed by bad design.

Honestly, the real estate industry is 20 years behind current marketing trends. Take time to look around at sites with design awards to see what's out there before designing websites/direct mail by yourself.

There's a lot of truth in that but crappy marketing done consistently will beat the snot out of snazzy and well designed marketing done haphazardly. It is the planned and consistent repetition that is the key.

I think for me is the letter e, because in real estate you must have a clear marketing information, of which your client must understand, all possible question of your client will have in mind must be clearly answered in the marketing strategy.
