Bandit Signs and RAIN?

It's Friday... time for the bandits to come out! I was planning on putting out my first campaign of bandit signs, but I see thunderstorms on the forecast tonight and tomorrow. Does this ruin the signs or reduce their effectiveness since people will be distracted by the weather while driving? I very much want to put them out and start getting calls, but these are my first bandit signs and I can't really afford for them to go to waste due to weather. What have you guys experienced with this?

If you are watching your nickels and dimes don't put them out if the weather is bad. It will be a waste of money because people generally ignore them during bad weather.

Do you have professionally made signs or ones made with permanent markers? Either way I don't see the rain destroying the signs if the ink is dry. Wind could take them out if they aren't placed properly.

Just wait until the weather is better.

If your signs are just regular cardboard then obviously water will destroy them. But, If your signs are corrugated plastic, like most professionally made signs, then put them up. Weather shouldn't hurt them. I've had signs last through a "Michigan winter." As long as they are on tight they will be fine. If they are up for months through rain & snow they may fade a bit but if they last that long you will certainly have sold something because of them, making it worthwhile to replace them with a bright new one!
Bandit signs are a great source of business...rain or shine.

I just put out quite a few bandit signs this past weekend. It sounds like you may be thinking to remove them on Sunday night or something. If so, then whats the point if the weather is poor with little visibility right? I get my signs professionally printed on coroplast (synth/ plastic cardboard) with overprint. These hold up to anything the weather can throw at them. So great longevity. In my area, I don't feel I have to remove them after a set period of time. I place them and check on the periodically just to see if their still there. Sometimes the sign police take them down or competitors remove them. Like Ryan said - Rain or Shine for the money they're are great stream of leads.

Thanks guys. I put out 20 signs to start off with Friday night. 18 of them remained by Sunday. They also survived a big storm so I was happy about that. I left 5 of the signs out on major intersections to test out how long they will last during the week with sign police

supercheapsigns.com is the company i used for professional bandit signs are only 1-2dollars a piece, and they are pretty big signs. bad weather will probably knock your signs downs also so it would be a waste of time.

Let us know if you get any calls/deals out of them. I just wanted to add that if you are nailing them to telephone poles, you will want to get the kind with the corrugated holes in the sign that run sideways instead of vertical. If they are vertical and nailed to post then strong winds can fold them.
