Hey Guys, I just have a quick question. Would you recommend any books on marketing specifically for real estate investing? I know I can find a lot of information on this site but I wanted to know if anyone would recommend any must read marketing books that would be useful to a new investor.

Anything by Dan Kennedy is good marketing advice. Frank Rambauskas (sp?) has great books, such as 'Selling Sucks', that goes over how to use online marketing effectively.

There are two types of marketing info you need. What strategies to use for real estate and how to effectively get the message across.

Books or courses on Wholesaling generally will have good ideas for strategies for real estate investing. For example
Mailing to non owner occupants
Vacant houses
code violations
foreclosure notices
bandit signs
we buy houses ads

Books on sales or marketing like the Dan Kennedy stuff will give you ideas of how to craft your message.

One book I read very early on that I thought was fantastic was "Investing in Real Estate" by Gary Eldred and Andrew McLean.

I haven't read it yet but another book that is highly recommended is "Millionaire Real Estate Investor" by Gary Keller.

Hi Erick,

Basically, there are 2 types of marketing - direct and indirect. I've used both in the past. But, I prefer direct marketing. I like to target neighborhoods instead of doing a mass marketing campaign. Though, some do mass market and go where they can find the deals. I do the opposite. I target the neighborhood(s) I want to work in and consistently market, then the opportunities come up. It's really worked out for me. It's all a matter of personality and how you want to work things. Hope that helps!
