100th Bank Fails This Year, Highest Level in 17 Years

Bank closings this year passed 100 on Friday when regulators shut down small banks in Florida and Georgia. The failures are the most since 1992 during the S&L crisis.

Nobody really notices this, unless it is their bank, except the investors who often use several of these smaller banks and S&L's
