I remember lotteries and raffles for the 'chance' to get in on new developments in Phoenix in '04-'05... crazy stuff down there in the heat!!

We had a lady here try to do a raffle. First the state stepped in to say she was offering illegal gambling. Then once that was cleared up, she had the raffle. And not enough people bought tickets. So she backed out. And got herself sued!
This is pretty interesting. The builder had 147,000 entries to the raffle. If they all chipped in a measely $100, or even something silly like $20 per raffle ticket the builder made $2,940,000 for the $20 tickets and $14,700,000 on just the raffle tickets!!!
Can't beat those kinds of returns!!!! I like :)
