The biggest mistake in real estate investing

by Joshua Dorkin on August 29, 2005

In an effort to learn what mistakes others made investing, member Marks asked What was your biggest mistake investing? I saw this and had some ideas about how people would respond, but I was a bit shocked to see how simple the answer was.

Not getting involved in good investments, was the biggest mistake quoted. When you find a good property and fail to act upon your information, you are bound to regret it, or so it seems. I for one can think of many times when I failed to act, and I probably regret 90% of those situations. Many of our forum members have come to the same realization.

The lesson here is that you can always convince yourself not to do something. It is those people who convince themselves to take a risk and go for it that prosper and have the least regrets. Mistakes happen, but with good research, you will be on your way to Bigger Pockets!
