The End For The Ultimate Apprentice

What do you say to a friend who was just fired by one of the most powerful people in real estate in front of millions of people?

Last night, my friend and college fraternity brother, Michael Languani, was fired from the Apprentice. I’ve watched Trump’s TV smash for the past few seasons, imagining what it would be like to go for his apprenticeship. When I found out that Michael was going to be on, I became giddy. We had partnered on b-school projects throughout college, and we were always at the top of the class. I could live vicariously through Michael and experience all of the trials and tribulations. If he could succeed, so could I.
I had no doubt that he could and should finish as a finalist in the competition. He made it to the top 10, top 8, top 6, top - wait, he’s done. My interest is now gone. My friend did not succeed.

Success is a tricky word, though. While he did not succeed in becoming a finalist on the show, he beat the odds by getting on the show, and again by making it as far as he did. He will no doubt find some kind of employment or entrepreneurial endeavor to drive him from here on. I would rather work with him again then any of the other people on the show, and I know he will continue to be successful in the long run.
