Find Comparable Rents With Rentometer

Author: Joshua Dorkin   • URL: http://www.biggerpockets.com/
October 9th, 2006   •

I got an email this weekend about a great little tool that I wanted to share with everyone. Rentometer

Just enter a property address, number of units in the building, and the current monthly rent, and Rentometer will show you where your price stands compared to others in the area. In addition, this Google mashup also shows comparable properties in the area on everyone’s favorite, Google maps.

This is a great tool for any landlord to have in their arsenal.

This looks like a really awesome website… but… i have one complaint. Why can’t the creators of these sites enable Canadian addresses?

I’d love something like this so I could compare rents in my area and make sure my rental properties are competetively priced! Please, please open this up to Canada in the near future…

Thanks Teresa! Wedding is this weekend . . .
NLG - It would be nice if they could tackle Canada as well. Maybe your words will echo with the creators of this tool!

Hey, that was fun! It came up with several examples in the areas I checked out. Maybe I’ll start using that to help analyze different parts of the city. Quick and easy, but I did notice it may not be completely accurate.

It is definately a great little tool. I cannot completely vouch for the accuracy, but from what I saw it was fairly close.

That is a fantastic addition to Google maps, I wonder whether it can be used in the UK also?
